Former Bharti Infratel exec DS Rawat joins Sun Mobility as India CEO

Electric vehicles solutions firm SUN Mobility on Friday said it has appointed former Bharti Infratel CEO and Managing Director Devender Singh Rawat as its India Chief Executive Officer.

In his new role, Rawat will be responsible for accelerating SUN Mobility’s business growth and expansion plans in India.

“I am looking forward to reliving the giant leaps that the telecom sector made in the last decade, with SUN Mobility — a company that has a strong vision and proven solution to bolster mass adoption of EVs in the country,” Rawat said on his appointment.

“I strongly believe that the EV sector in India is poised for exponential growth in the next few years.”

Rawat comes with 25 years of experience in the telecom sector. Prior to Bharti Infratel, he has had leading management positions at major telecom gears makers such like Ericsson and Huawei.

“With 25 years of world class leadership experience driving complex telecom businesses, scaling infrastructure rollouts and managing regulatory challenges, D.S. Rawat brings to SUN Mobility the right credentials to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth,” said Uday Khemka, Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman, SUN Mobility.

SUN Mobility is a leading provider of energy infrastructure and services for electric vehicles.

Founded in 2017, it is a joint venture between SUN Group and Maini Group. IANS
