EUR 4.5 Billion Of New Irish Data Centres To Be Built By 2025

The building of new data centres in Ireland will generate over EUR 4.5 billion in inward investment for the country by 2025, according to a new report from Host in Ireland.

The report expects 34 new data centres to become operational in Ireland in the next six years, on top of the 53 data centres currently active. Currently, eight new facilities are under construction, with planning approval in place for 26 more.

The Q2 2019 update report also shows that annual investment in data centres in Ireland has reached EUR 1.3 billion on an annual basis, with cumulative investment in the data centre sector set to reach around EUR 11 billion by 2023. The largest cluster of data centres is in Dublin South West, where there are 14 active data centres.―Telecompaper
