Ericsson Partners With Industry Leaders To Help Reduce Traffic Deaths In India

Ericsson has announced that it will join the Sweden India Transport Innovation and Safety Partnership, SITIS, to help improve traffic safety in India. Together with research institutes and government authorities, SITIS aims to harness the power of connectivity, electromobility, automation, and AI to implement effective technology and system-level measures to improve traffic safety.

As part of its engagement, Ericsson will establish testbeds to develop, test and deploy solutions, all while using the latest technologies in connectivity, co-operative and intelligent transport systems. The project is planned to kick off in the first half of 2020 and will focus in the first phase on developing safe and secure intercity transport corridors in India.

The inauguration ceremony of the Sweden-India Transport Safety and Innovation Partnership (SITIS) took place on February 20, 2020 in Stockholm, Sweden.―CT Bureau
