DoT allocates MSC code in UP East to Reliance Jio

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Friday allocated a fresh set of MSC codes to telecom service provider Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited for providing mobile services in Uttar Pradesh (East) LSA. The MSC codes (34th series) allotment came in consideration to the request from Reliance Jio.

“In consideration to the request of M/s Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, the undersigned is directed to convey the allotment of MSC codes,” DoT said in a circular.

“Aforementioned Series may be used by TSP except for the ported out subscribers (if any) of TTSL,” the circular said.

DoT’s MSC code allotment will help Reliance Jio meet the demand of one million subscribers in Uttar Pradesh (East) LSA. The Telecom Department had last month allocated fresh MSC codes to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited in Bihar, Karnataka, and West Bengal to meet the demand of one million subscribers each. CT Bureau
