Details on the TCS-ITI order from BSNL

BSNL has awarded an advance purchase order of Rs 19000 crore on TCS-ITI. The value for Tata Consultancy Services-led consortium is Rs 15,500 crore and for ITI Limited Rs 3,889 crore. This is for the deployment of 100,000 4G sites network across India.

Tata Consultancy Services-led consortium, which includes Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Tejas Networks has bagged a Rs 15,000-crore contract from BSNL to deploy 4G network for the state-run telco. Tejas Networks will supply and service the Radio Access Networks (RAN) equipment. Initial supplies and deployment are expected to be completed within the next 18 months.

In a statement, TCS said it has received an “advance purchase order” valued over Rs 15,000 crore from BSNL.

ITI Ltd has been awarded an advance purchase order for Rs 3,889 crore for deploying 23,633 sites for 4G services. This includes including AMC for 9 years. The supply period for the 4G telecom gear is 18-24 month under the contract. This is for reservation quota order in the West Zone. The scope of work includes planning, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning, and Annual Maintainence Contract of 4G mobile network for 23,633 sites in West Zone of BSNL Network.

The supply period is 18-24 months and warranty is 12 months with consortium partner being TCS. As part of the contract, ITI Ltd will manufacture the Radio Access Network. “We are delighted to receive this order from BSNL and we are thankful to the Ministry of Communication and BSNL for reposing great trust and faith in ITI’s execution capability. This is a significant milestone for ITI as we are partnering with BSNL for connecting remote parts of our nation,” said ITI Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Rai said.
In the past, ITI Ltd has deployed 2G and 3G GSM Networks for BSNL in west zone as well as in south zone.
