DRA/DEA

The Diameter Routing Agent is the heart of the Diameter signaling network – the core Diameter routing element that eliminates mesh connectivity issues, simplifies management, balances load and provides special routing for HSS, OCS, and PCRF, reduces testing, resolves interoperability problems, and enables centralized control. The Diameter Edge Agent supports LTE Roaming between 4G Mobile Networks and between 4G networks and GRX/IPX hub networks. Coupled with the DEA, the IWF provides multi-generation Interworking to support roaming between 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. Virtualization/NFV, Routing on Any AVP, Access network agnostic, Eliminate hardware dependencies, Congestion Control, Control traffic distribution for optimal server response, Mitigate Signaling Storms,  Simplified Provisioning & Testing, Rapid scalability.

Signaling Firewall

SS7 signaling technology is used by a vast majority of mobile network operators and until recently it was practically impossible to obtain access via an unauthorized remote host. Now though, newer signaling transport protocols have been developed extending SS7 to run over IP. This inadvertently exposed the underlying signaling services to the public domain. The result is that an intruder with adequate technical skill can exploit mobile networks and their subscribers. Mavenir offers the industry’s most advanced Network Security and Fraud Management Suite, a unique platform built with AI/Machine Learning & Big Data Analytics providing Real-Time Network Protection and Fraud Prevention. The model for mobile network economics includes protecting revenues from continuous and growing security and fraud threats. To protect the mobile operator’s revenue, security solutions utilizing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning for Enhanced Messaging firewalls and A2P managed services are required. Mavenir’s Signaling Firewall supports, SS7, Diameter, SIP connectivities’ vulnerability.

5G Core

The 3GPP-defined 5G Core (5GC), with the introduction of Services Based Architecture (SBA) and Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS), is designed to support the different throughput, latency, reliability and mobility requirements of each service category. The 5GC enables network slicing, provides web-scale architecture, offers deployment agility and reduces opex and is dsigned for converged access, making it possible to handle multiple access technologies (inc Wi-Fi, Fixed Wireless and Wireline) within the same architecture. Mavenir’s Approach to 5G Core , is an integrated service-centric framework – which is critical for high granularity, scalability, elasticity, dynamic control, and orchestration. It is designed to support high bandwidth (e.g. 20 Gbps peak downlink throughput per sector), Massive IoT connectivity and ultra-low latency (ULL) applications as well as local offload to the enterprise edge. The promise of 5G can be realized by implementing the service based 5GC architecture. Introduction of this new paradigm in packet core network design necessitates careful thinking for continuation of existing services in unison with insertion of new 5GC functions for new services. The 5G Core changes the way the mobile core network is implemented today, so it’s important to consider various insertion options before beginning the transition. Multiple options are possible, depending on combinations of different generations of access and core, such as Standalone (SA) using only one radio access, and Non-Standalone (NSA) combining multiple radio access technologies. Mavenir’s 5GC consists of web-scale, cloud-native, micro-services based Network Functions (NFs) running on containers under Kubernetes orchestration. These functions are built on top of web-scale IT infrastructure that has matured over years for cloud-enabled services. Moreover, this solution enables all the adjacent functions to run on a common platform to support disparate use cases such as IoT Gateway, AR/VR applications, enabling reuse of the foundational capabilities and services layer. This approach yields dramatic capex and opex savings rather than continuing to invest in proprietary, hardwarebased infrastructure. Mavenir’s packet core supports all the migration options from 4G to 5G, while also supporting integrated 4G/5G functions. Service based interfaces are isolated from legacy reference point interfaces, like Diameter, by creating the interworking functions
