Consumers Lament Lack Of Nodal Officers

Telecom and cable service consumers in the state complained to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Thursday about the lack of nodal officers in each district.

At the consumer outreach programme, consumers said that pending concerns have remained unanswered despite assurances from TRAI and service providers.

Secretary of GOACAN Lorna Fernandes said the deputy collectors who have reportedly been appointed as nodal officers are unaware of their responsibilities. “The problem is that many nodal officers don’t know they are nodal officers. The telecom service providers are supposed to have nodal officers too and hold customer outreach programmes, which does not happen,” she said.―Times of India
