Cognizant terminates Americas president Gregory Hyttenrauch

Cognizant has terminated Gregory Hyttenrauch from his position as executive vice-president and president of Americas effective immediately due to behaviour inconsistent with the company’s policy, the firm said in a SEC filing on Tuesday.

Surya Gummadi has been appointed to serve as interim leader of Cognizant Americas. Gummadi has been with Cognizant since 2000 and most recently served as SVP and head of Cognizant’s healthcare and life sciences business. He has worked on many of Cognizant’s strategic acquisitions, including the $2.7 billion TriZetto acquisition and its commercial integration.

In his previous role at Cognizant, Hyttenrauch led the digital systems & technology services supporting clients with a broad portfolio of consulting, application, infrastructure and assurance capabilities.

In response to TOI’s email, a Cognizant spokesperson said, “The 8-K speaks for itself. It is not our policy to comment on the reasons for the departure of any of our executives.”

He joined Cognizant in 2019 from Vodafone, where he served as director of global cloud and security services. He was the president of the Americas, and led Cognizant’s business in the US, Latin America, and Canada. He was responsible for the region’s performance. Beastsoul
