Cellnex, BT Announce 20-Year High Towers Agreement In UK

Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom and BT have signed a long-term agreement giving Cellnex marketing and operating rights for 220 BT high towers across the UK for 20 years. The agreement is worth around GBP 100 million and includes a commitment to explore further opportunities between Cellnex and BT in the UK, setting the foundation for a potential future industrial co-operation.

The deal increases the total number of telecoms sites managed by Cellnex in the UK by almost 40 percent. Cellnex will manage the existing service contracts for theses for BT, and both partners will share additional revenue streams that Cellnex expects to generate from these sites by offering new equipment co-location services to communications operators.
