Canadian investor Brookfield Asset Management, among the largest infrastructure investors in the world, plans to offload renewable energy assets with a capacity of about 1.6GW. A potential deal is likely to value them at around Rs 10,000 crore enterprise value, inclusive of debt.
Why it’s important: Five years after entering the renewables sector in the country, Brookfield is looking to partially monetize its clean energy assets. Finding suitable buyers wouldn’t be a problem as there is keen investor interest in India’s energy transition. Moneycontrol
