BSNL to get spectrum for 5G rollout

DoT is all set allocate spectrum for ₹60,000 crore to BSNL for rolling out its 5G services by August 2023.

It is expected to be 10 MHz block in the premium 700 MHz spectrum band worth about ₹40,000 crore along with 70 MHz in the mid-band (3600 MHz to 3670 MHz) worth about ₹20,000 crore.

Approval is awaited from the digital communications commission (DCC), K. Rajaraman, Secretary (Telecommunications) is the Chairman, DCC.
After this the Cabinet approval will be required.
