BSNL pre-bid 4G tender meeting held on January 18

The pre-bid meeting for the BSNL tender for rolling out 4G services was held on Monday. An EoI had been issued, for which only Indian companies are allowed to provide the core network through a system integrator model. For the radio network, global firms can bid but they need to deposit their source in an escrow account.

The EoI document had been purchased by twelve companies. These include Nokia, Ericsson, Tejas, ITI, L&T, STL, HFCL, Tech Mahindra, TCS, and Mavenir among others. Huawei and ZTE have indicated that they would also like to bid.

ITI revealed that it has partnered with C-DoT for core and Tejas Networks for RAN. ITI, being a PSU enjoys 20 percent reservation on this order. The company will have to match the L1 price.
