BSNL Chennai Circle Launches Aadhaar Enrolment And Updation Facility At Centres

Selected customer service centres (CSC) of state-run telecom operator BSNL in the city have doubled up as Aadhaar Service Kendras.

Trained BSNL personnel, who are certified by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), have been engaged for Aadhaar enrolment and updation process with Aadhaar enrolment devices.

Chennai Telephones chief general manager S M Kalavathi inaugurated an Aadhaar Service Kendra at BSNL Anna Nagar CSC, according to a press release.

BSNL has been authorized by UIDAI to offer Aadhaar Service Kendra facility through its countrywide network of 3000 CSCs.

In Chennai Telephones Circle, 43 CSCs have been identified for the purpose. Residents can visit the CSCs for new enrolment and updation services of Aadhaar.

Applicants can get new enrolment and mandatory biometric update of children free cost, the press release said. Rs 50 would be charged for other biometric and demographic updates.―Times of India
