BSE Telecom Index Slips Led By Airtel, Vodafone Idea

The BSE Telecom index is trading lower by 0.16 percent at 988 levels, whereas, the major benchmark indices, Sensex is trading lower by 95 points at 35,796 level and Nifty is trading lower by 35 points at 10,758 level.

Bharti Airtel was contributing majorly to the index losses, followed by MTNL, Vodafone Idea, RCom and HFCL, which were also trading lower on the BSE.

On the flip side, Tata Comm, and Bharti Infratel stocks are trading in the positive zone.

As per TRAI report released on Wednesday, Reliance Jio and BSNL jointly added over 1.08cr new mobile phone customers, while Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtlel, Tata Teleservices, MTNL and Reliance Communications lost more than 1.01cr customers.

Bharti Airtel Ltd is currently trading at Rs310.55 down by Rs2.25 or 0.72 percent from its previous closing of Rs312.80 on the BSE.

Reliance Communications Ltd is currently trading at Rs13.65 down by Rs0.16 or 1.16 percent from its previous closing of Rs13.81 on the BSE.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd is currently trading at Rs16.85 down by Rs1 or 5.6 percent from its previous closing of Rs17.85 on the BSE.

Vodafone Idea Ltd is currently trading at Rs35.85 down by Rs0.95 or 2.58 percent from its previous closing of Rs36.80 on the BSE.

Bharti Infratel Ltd is currently trading at Rs268.90 up by Rs5.6 or 2.13 percent from its previous closing of Rs263.30 on the BSE.

Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd is currently trading at Rs21 down by Rs0.2 or 0.94 percent from its previous closing of Rs21.20 on the BSE.

Tata Communications Ltd is currently trading at Rs535.75 up by Rs14.4 or 2.76 percent from its previous closing of Rs521.35 on the BSE.― IndiaInfoline
