Telecom companies are expected to hire professionals in the 5G sector as they roll out their
offerings. Airtel crossed one million users despite being in the development stage and is now
targeting 20 million users by 2025. The company wants to use the advent of 5G for its digital
payments initiative and make it easy for customers to pay bills and access services.
“We have crossed 1 million 5G users in our network, and we aim to add 20 million users by 2025,”
said a senior official from Airtel, adding that the company has set up a dedicated team for
digitalization initiatives. The hype of 5G has opened up a different set of new opportunities for
telecom companies, and they are also looking forward to it.
