Bharti Foundation And Ericsson India Join Hands To Open Robotic Lab In Punjab

Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises in partnership with Ericsson inaugurated “The Robotic Lab” at Satya Bharti Senior Secondary School, Jhaneri, Punjab. The state-of-the-art lab in the Government school in Jhaneri, Punjab will benefit the underprivileged students from Class IV to Class VIII and further stimulate their interest in science and technology.

The program curriculum aims to introduce these students to the world of digital technology by improving their general understanding as well as providing hands-on experience of programming and digital tools. During the robotic classes, students will learn the basics of programming and develop the skillsets to create precise and accurate instructions. The three-year partnership with Bharti Foundation aims to impart knowledge that inspires students to pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). With Ericsson’s global experience and expertise in leveraging ICT technology, this program will provide knowledge in the areas of new technologies, coding, programming and robotics to name a few.

Speaking on the occasion, Mamta Saikia, CEO, Bharti Foundation said “Use of robotics in the classroom has proven to be a consistent and dependable way to teach students the required skills needed to prepare them for the future job market. Robotics at the school is now a significant part of learning that improves the analytical skills of students. I would like to thank Ericsson for partnering with us in this initiative and provide this exciting learning opportunity to the underprivileged students that they would not have access to otherwise.”

Working in the robotics projects will also help students to improve their analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
