Bharti Airtel Appoints Badal Bagri As CFO

The Board of Directors of Bharti Airtel Ltd, in its meeting held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, has considered and approved the changes in the Key Managerial Personnel (‘KMP’) of the Company.

The board has accepted the resignation of Mr. Nilanjan Roy, Global CFO and KMP of the Company with effect from February 28, 2019.

The board also approved the appointment of Mr. Badal Bagri as Chief Financial Officer (‘CFO’) and KMP of the Company with effect from March 01, 2019.

Badal Bagri has been with Airtel since January 2017, he is responsible for devising the financial and operational strategy, assisting with a commercial road-map to realize the long term vision of the organization and driving overall governance. Badal has been instrumental in driving operational efficiencies through cost transformation exercises He has also played a leading role in various mergers and acquisitions, right from deal evaluations to efficient integrations.

Badal is not new to Airtel and had been with the company for four years between 2010 and 2014. Dudng his previous tenure at Airtel, he has played the roles of the Chief Controller for the Consumer Business as well as the Global Financial Controller. After leaving Airtel, Badal was the CFO of Micromax and subsequently, Aircel. In both these assignments, besides business finance and controllership, he was also responsible for M&A and Treasury.

A Commerce Graduate from Calcutta University (1992) and a Chartered Accountant (1994), Badal has around 23 years of experience across Telecom, FMCG, Services and Manufacturing. Prior to his first stint at Airtel, Badal has worked in leading organizations such as Genpact, GE, Coke and ICI.
