AUO Showcasing PV Modules At Energy Taiwan 2019

LCD panel maker AU Optronics (AUO) is exhibiting SunBravo series high-efficiency multi-busbar PV modules at Energy Taiwan 2019 during October 16-18.

There are two main SunBravo models, one made of 60 PERC mono-Si cells with power output of 335W and the other a half-cut model made of 60 PERC mono-Si cells with output of 350W, AUO said.

A half-cut module is made of 120 halved pieces of solar cells connected in a shingled array with borders overlapped to reduce space occupied and electrical resistance. SunBravo series PV modules feature resistance to high temperatures and moisture, strong wind and salty air, said AUO.

AUO is also showcasing a cloud computing-based smart PV operation monitoring solution through integrating monitoring software, devices to collect data about module and environmental temperatures, humidity, wind speed and direction, sun radiation and wireless IoT sensing devices. The solution enables users to undertake real-time analysis and diagnosis of power-generating conditions via PCs and mobile devices.

Using in-house-produced PV modules, AUO has undertaken EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) for power generation projects for several years. In 2019, AUO has completed rooftop PV systems totaling 11MWp at six factories of Yuen Foong Yu Paper Manufacturing and will begin establishing a 15MWp ground-mounted PV power station in southern Taiwan via cooperation with plastic material maker Chi Mei Corp. AUO has also won open bids to set up three floating PV power stations totaling 4.5MWp.―Digitimes
