APPOINTED

Sameer Garde has been appointed as president – India and SAARC, Cisco. Prior to joining Cisco, Garde was president and managing director, Dell India. He succeeds Dinesh Malkani, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Ravi Viswanathan has been appointed as global chief marketing officer, Tata Consultancy Services. His previous role of managing emerging geographies — India, the Middle-East, and Africa — has been re-assigned to human resources head, Ajoyendra Mukherjee.

Pankaj Tiwari has been appointed as the company secretary and key managerial personnel of Bharti Airtel. Tiwari joins Bharti Airtel from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked extensively in the corporate governance and compliance space.

Jayesh Parekh has been appointed as business head – consumer durables business of Intex Technologies. Prior to joining Intex Technologies, Parekh was part of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. as vice president – sales and distribution.

Adobe Systems Incorporated has named Shanmugh Natarajan as the managing director for Adobe Systems in India.  Natarajan was formerly executive director, Adobe.

Satish Dhanasekaran will succeed Mike Gasparian as president of the communications solutions group of Keysight Technologies. Gasparian, who has chosen to retire, will remain as an advisor through the end of the year to assist with the transition. Keysight has also appointed Marie Hattar to its executive team as chief marketing officer.

Laxmi Akkaraju has been appointed as chief strategy officer of GSMA. Akkaraju, who was currently senior vice president, global delivery at EVRY, will join the GSMA effective September 1, 2017.

Varsha Rao has been appointed to the board of directors, ViaSat, Inc. With the appointment of Rao, the ViaSat board now consists of nine members, seven of whom are independent directors.

Bikash Koley has been appointed as CTO, Juniper Networks, and joins from August 2017. Koley is currently a head of network architecture, engineering and planning at Google.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, is now also a board member of its parent company Alphabet Inc.

Deirdre O’Brien has been appointed as vice president of People of Apple. O’Brien, currently vice president of worldwide sales and operations, will lead all HR functions and also oversee Apple University.

Gregory Lee has been appointed as president of Nokia Technologies and as member of the Group Leadership team. Lee joins Nokia from Samsung Electronics, where he most recently served as president and CEO, Samsung Electronics, North America.

Intelsat has announced three new leadership appointments expected to drive product development, innovation, and growth for the organization and its customers. Under the new structure, Jean-Philippe Gillet will lead the broadband business, Mark Rasmussen will head the mobility business, and Robert Cerbone joins the company as the head of the media services business.

RESIGNED

Arvind Vohra, chief executive officer and managing director, Gionee India has stepped down from his position. He will continue in the company as executive director.

Ritika Suri, executive vice-president, Infosys has resigned from the company.

Jim Dubois, chief information officer, Microsoft has resigned from the company. Kurt DelBene will replace DuBois as chief digital officer.

Arto Nummela, CEO, who joined only in December, has left HMD Global effective immediately.

Leif Johansson, Ericsson AB chairman agreed to step down next year after seven years in the job.
