Asus is gearing to launch two new ZenFone models in India on October 17. In fact, just like the ZenFone Max Pro M1, the upcoming new ZenFones will be globally launched in India on October 17 meaning India will be the first market to get them. The company has started teasing the launch event on social media and has also sent out invites to the media for the launch event to be hosted in the National Capital on the said date. The new ZenFones, like all Asus phones, will be a Flipkart-exclusive in India.
Asus surprised many when it globally announced the ZenFone Max Pro M1 in India in May. It was a phone built to directly take on the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi A1 (which has since been replaced by the Mi A2). The USP of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 was the fact that it did nor run Asus’ Zen UI but it was based on stock Android. Little is known about the new upcoming ZenFones but it is expected that these would be aggressively priced in India, in line with the company’s current strategy for this market.
At ASUS, we are constantly looking to innovate and make our products befitting to the Indian Market. Tune in to the live stream on 17th October and witness the launch of our two new smartphones in India! Including a Global First! Watch this space for more.
It won’t be surprising if Asus pits its new ZenFones straight up against the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, since the company already has the ZenFone Max Pro M1 to compete against the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi A2. It is yet to be seen if these new ZenFones would also rock stock Android or stick to Asus’ Zen UI.
Asus recently announced that the ZenFone Max Pro M1 3GB and 4GB RAM versions will be available for buying round the clock. While the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 sells for Rs 10,999, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version is available for Rs 12,999.
The ZenFone Max Pro M1 comes with a 5.99-inch 1080p+ display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor under the hood. It comes with up to 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE (VoLTE-ready).
Another USP of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is its massive 5,000mAh battery which is claimed to offer 34.1 days of 4G stand-by and 25.3 hours of 1080p video playback, and up to 35 hours of 3G talk-time. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 also supports fast charging. – India Today
