Airtel Rolls Out Rs 23 Plan, Here’s What Users Will Get More

Country’s second largest telecom operator Airtel has rolled out a new plan for its prepaid users. The company has launched a plan of Rs 23 which can be used to increase the validity of an account by 28 days. This new prepaid plan from Airtel is called as a Plan Voucher and it comes under the Smart Recharge product portfolio of the company. The plan does not offer any unlimited calling or data facility and can only be used to increase the expiring validity by 28 days.

With this new plan Airtel aims to offer the incoming and outgoing calls facility to the users when they run out of balance. Apart from Airtel all the other telecom operators are also introducing a similar kind of plan. As reported earlier this type of recharge plans will likely increase the “average revenue per users (ARPU)”.

According to a report by Telecom Talk, with the introduction of these kinds of recharge plans the service providers aim to remove the subscribers who are not paying for the services. The report also added that Airtel and Vodafone Idea have announced three minimum recharge plans of Rs 35, Rs 65 and Rs 95.

As part of the extended validity under Rs 23 plan, the Airtel users will be charged up to 2.5 paise per second, Rs 1 for sending local SMS and Rs 1.5 for sending national messages. Presently, this new recharge plan is available only in select telecom circles. However, the company might expand it to all the functional telecom circles soon.

Recently, Airtel introduced Rs 419 plan for its prepaid users. The plan is available in all the telecom circles of the company. Under Rs 419 plan, Airtel offers 1.4GB data per day with unlimited local and STD calling and 100 SMS per day. The plan comes with the validity of 75 days, which means that the users will get a total 105GB data under the plan. – Gadgets Now
