Airtel Africa Passes 100 Million Subscribers Mark

Airtel Africa announced that it has crossed the 100 million customers mark, up from 99.7 million reported at the end of June. Airtel Africa is the second largest mobile operator in Africa by number of active subscribers.

CEO Raghunath Mandava said the achievement is testament to the hard work of its employees and a clear reflection that customers value its network and service offerings. Mandava said Airtel Africa’s footprint is characterised by low but increasing mobile connectivity, with a unique user penetration of 43 percent, highlighting the potential for growth.―Telecompaper
