Adani gets LoI for telecom services in Gujarat

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) recently issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Adani Data Networks Limited for the grant of a Unified License with multiple authorisations.

The Letter of Intent (LOI) bearing number 20-1327/2022-AS-1 was issued on 28th July 2022 by DoT. As part of the Unified License, Adani Data Networks will have authorisation of International Long Distance (ILD) [National Area], National Long Distance (NLD) [National Area], and Internet Service Provider (ISP) Category B {(ISP-B)} for Gujarat telecom circle.

The company being a new entrant in the 2022 Auction has submitted an undertaking that it will obtain a Unified License with authorisation of Access Service in specified LSAs in case it is declared a successful bidder.

Adani Group had recently clarified that its participation in the upcoming auction is with the intent to provide private network solutions along with enhanced cyber security. The company as of now doesn’t plan to foray into the consumer mobility space in the telecom sector. OnlyTech
