Journalist can adopt 5G technologies and upgraded network for high-definition video transmission while exhibitors can access improved mobile network with both coverage and speed as well as a bilingual hotline during the China International Import Expo, China Telecom’s Shanghai branch said during the weekend.
The carrier will provide “A-Class” telecommunications services for about 600,000 people attending CIIE, covering exhibitors, traders, journalists, officials, staff and etc, said Shanghai Telecom.
For journalists, some 5G technologies can be used during the CIIE through a cooperation between SMG and Shanghai Telecom for high-definition video transmission. At present, China hasn’t issued 5G license, which makes this adoption unique in the country.
The bandwidth of CIIE news center reached 1 gigabytes per second, also five to 10 times compared with local family broadband service.
Meanwhile, China Telecom offers 10 GB bandwidth of broadband in the CIIE halls with back-up lines, which can support high speed Internet access of 3,0000 exhibitors. Shanghai Telecom has cooperated 28 local hotels to improve their broadband services and bring smart hotel applications.
The carriers also offer 24/7 tech support for 968888, the bilingual service hotline of CIIE.
Besides China Telecom, China Mobile has said they would offer special and professional telecommunications support for CIIE, including network speed and coverage improve and some network upgrade in airports and railway stations.
Similar 5G technologies will also be used during the World Internet Conference starting from November 7, carriers said. – Shine
