5G services launched in Mizoram

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati interacted with Zonal Officer and Engineer from Bharti Airtel Ltd at the Raj Bhavan today. In this meeting, they discuss the rollout plan for the 5G Network in the state and also about how to improve digital connectivity in rural areas and how the network service providers can play their roles.

As per the PowerPoint Presentation by the Airtel officials, Bharti Airtel Ltd is in the process of installing 5G towers at 53 and 10 locations in Aizawl and at Lunglei, respectively. As per the schedule, the 5G Network will be available to be used in the month of February 2023. By April 2023, the Airtel 5G Network will cover all the headquarters of the districts in Mizoram. The Airtel officials also apprised Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati about the plan to increase fibre networks in the rural areas.

Governor thanked and congratulated Bharti Airtel Ltd for their effort to bring the 5G Network service to Mizoram within the next month. He hoped that this major improvement in network connectivity will boost several important activities that are dependent on good and fast network connectivity. He urged Bharti Airtel Ltd and other telecom operators in the state to try their best to improve connectivity in the rural areas as the poor connectivity affects the banking services in these areas.
