5G auction modalities by DCC to be decided on May 17

The Digital Communications Commission (DCC) meeting to decide upon the modalities of the upcoming 5G auctions is now scheduled for May 17. It was earlier planned for May 12.

The TRAI has left some decisions for DCC. The tenure for which to give out spectrum to telcos, the decision to auction the 24.25-29.5 GHz bands and if private companies be allowed to create internal 5G networks on their premises are some of the main issues.
