OptiPlus Sliding LIU

Key Features: Accommodates up to 24 connections in only 1U(1.75"); suitable for 19" frames; security fastened patch cords can exit to left or right; front sliding; transparent lid for easy see through; accepts all standard connector types and cable designs; easy to use; minimizes use of rack space; low profile and compact design; easily installed in existing frames for mix-and-match applications; saves time and money on installation; flexibility in configurations; excellent cable management; easy access to splice trays and internal fiber management; compatible with existing plant Image

DIGILINK recently launched its latest product which is DIGILINK Sliding LIU under its OptiPlus fiber range. A Light guide Interconnect Unit (LIU) is essentially a fiber distribution box wherein the fiber backbone cables and the equipment cables are terminated. The fiber spools provide minimum bending radius and the splice trays function as a splice cover for pigtail splicing. Together they function as an excellent interfacing unit for fiber cables coming in from field and those originating from the equipments. The unique sliding rack mount panel is an excellent choice for applications requiring an extremely compact and easy-to-use design. It is used to patch and splice fibers and to provide cross-connection capability. It accommodates up to 24 connections and can use a wide variety of connector types. The panel can be installed in a 19" rack and occupies only 1.75" 1U of rack space. Splice trays and internal fiber management are housed in a sliding drawer that latches securely in both the open and the closed positions. Jumpers can exit either to the left or right, at the front of the panel.

Full HD H.264/MPEG-2 Transcoder ICs

Key Features: Industry-leading low power consumption and small form-factor; 1-chip integration of necessary functions for recording digital broadcasts; H.264/MPEG-2 bi-directional transcoder functionality; abundant interfaces to connect peripheral ICs.Image

Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte. Ltd. has launched 2 new transcoder ICs that can convert between Full HD (1920 dots x 1080 lines) MPEG-2 video data and H.264 video data, as well as transcoding between audio formats while featuring a low power consumption of only 1.0Watt (W) including the in-package memory. These new ICs are targeted to support the growing number of electronic equipment that can record digital broadcasts. By employing Fujitsu's proprietary transcode technology, Fujitsu Microelectronics realized industry-leading low power consumption. Combined with the small form-factor packaging, these ICs can be used not only for non-mobile fixed electronic equipment - such as Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) - but also in such mobile products such as notebook PCs. In addition to the transcode function, security functions are included on a single chip to make it easy for customers to create their systems.
