APPOINTED

Dr. JS Sarma has been named the new TRAI Chairman. Before joining TRAI, Dr. Sarma was holding the post of Member in Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal

Justin Chen has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. (HTIPL). Prior to his appointment, Justin held the position of Director of Message & Application department of Huawei Software Company in Shenzhen. As the COO of Huawei's India R&D center, he will focus on enhancing HTIPL's position as the most competitive R&D center within Huawei, promoting end-to-end ownership of products, and establishing HTIPL as an important center in Software & Service domain

Sandip Chadha has been appointed as Managing Director for India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) by CommScope Enterprise Solutions, a division of CommScope, Inc. Sandip will be responsible for driving a multidisciplinary strategy to serve business enterprises and expand regional business opportunities within the enterprise market in India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Eiji Kato has been appointed by Epson as the new Country Head to spearhead its India operations. Eiji Kato is an Epson veteran with over two decades of experience working in and leading multiple businesses across the Seiko-Epson portfolio in Asia and Europe including Electronic Devices(ED), Original equipments Manufacturing (OEM), and Visual Instruments (VI). Eiji Kato replaces Etsuo Fujita who moves back to Japan after 6 years in India.

Arun Tadanki has been appointed as the new Managing Director by Yahoo India. Arun joins Yahoo from Monster.com where he was the President, Asia-Pacific and Middle East. In his new role, Arun will be responsible for strengthening Yahoo's position in the Indian market and also to oversee the company's business in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa. He will be based out of New Delhi and will report to Keith Nilsson, Sr.Vice President Emerging markets.

Ankesh Kumar has been promoted to Senior Manager - Channel Products (India) by Emerson Network Power. Prior to this, Ankesh headed the marketing and communications function for Emerson Network Power in India. In his new role, Ankesh will be responsible for product management and marketing of the Liebert small and micro UPS (uninterruptible power supply) product line in India.

Sudhir Dixit has been appointed as Director of HP Labs India by Hewlett-Packard with effect from June 15. Prior to the new appointment, he has been associated with Nokia Siemens Networks, Research in Motion (RIM), NYNEX Science & Technology and GTE, Codex Motorola, Wang Labs, Harris, and STL (now Nortel Ltd., U.K). In the new position, Dixit will helm the research activities, with special concentration on the needs of customers in India's rapidly growing markets and creating technologies to make IT relevant, affordable, and simple to consumers.

SS Raman, Director, TVS Electronics has been appointed as the whole time Director and CEO, TVS Electronics and MD of TVS-E Servicetec. Raman joined TVS Electronics in 2005 as President. Later he was appointed as whole time Director, President and CEO in TVS-E Servicetec in 2007. He was earlier associated in various senior positions in TELCO, Birla Yamaha, TVS Whirlpool, and Whirlpool Corporation.

Pallab Talukdar has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer for the Fujitsu's India operations. Prior to this Pallab was the Director, Enterprise Business with Dell. Pallab brings in a wealth of experience and strategic insight to Fujitsu India.

A Raja has been appointed as the Union Minister for Communications and IT. This is Raja's fourth term in Lok Sabha. After the portfolio allocations were over Raja said that auction of spectrum for 3G services and introduction of IT at the lowest level in the government to make the functioning paperless are on top of his agenda.

Sachin Pilot and Gurudas Kamat have been designated as the two new Ministers of State for Communications and IT bringing in a healthy blend of youth and freshness with experience.

R Chandrasekhar has now been elevated to Secretary, Department of IT, Ministry of Communications and IT. He was earlier the Special Secretary in the department and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge, especially in the area of e-governance.

Anuj Kapoor has been appointed as the new Country Head for Service Delivery Solutions vertical by Telecordia.

B S Shantharaju has been appointed as the new CEO by Indus Towers which recently claimed recording 100,000 telecom towers in its fold. B S Shantharaju who till now served as the CEO of Delhi International Airports Pvt. Ltd. replaces current Indus CEO, Stefan Langkamp who will now move back to Vodafone.

K. Ramakrishnan has been named as the new Country Manager- Marketing by Lenovo India. In the new position, Ramakrishnan will be tasked with the management and development of the Lenovo brand, and supervising the marketing strategy for Lenovo's product line-up crosswise enterprise, consumer and small-medium business segments in India.
