"Transforming chaos into clear and manageable security is essential, which is why future network security systems need to focus on convergence and consolidation." ![]() The network security market in India is coming of age, largely driven by the businesses recognizing that security should be a prime concern area for them. Organizations are therefore adopting a proactive approach towards embracing security measures as a business imperative. Security vendors and researchers are collaborating more closely on the disclosure of vulnerabilities, so that patches and workarounds can be created before the exploitable information is widely available. Security vendors are also working both together and separately to make it easier to report and discover current security incidents, and to assess threats accurately. On the market and technology trends Organizations are adopting advanced security solutions to protect end-points, network admission control, application security, security monitoring, and event co-relation and this segment is growing almost double the rate of traditional security solutions. The goal of IT infrastructure therefore is to create systems that can detect and protect against unauthorized access while providing timely access to legitimate users. Simply denying access in the face of an attack is no longer acceptable. Today's networks must be able to respond to attacks in ways that maintain network availability and reliability and allow a business to continue to function. In many respects, the goal of security is to make networks more resilient by making them more flexible. On the future Transforming chaos into clear and manageable security is essential, which is why future network security systems need to focus on convergence and consolidation. For robust information security for an enterprise, a proactive architectural and system approach is critical. The idea is to accurately identify and stop attacks as early and as far from the destination host as possible, while simultaneously simplifying the security architectures required to do this.Instead of a security product for each security need in isolation, an end-to-end security solution approach or system enables these combined functions to operate as a coordinated defense (instead of silos) that stops a broader range of attacks and greatly reduces the number of diverse multi-vendor devices that must be deployed, thereby simplifying security design and management.Adaptive threat defense is the need of the day, where an end-point security system can dynamically generate an attack signature and push it to the other end-points and to the perimeter IPS devices to stop it from propagating to rest of the infrastructure. This type of systems-approach transforms security from operating as separate siloed technologies in a reactive mode with limited and static detection methods, to functioning as a coordinated, proactive threat defense system that adapts to the threat environment. |
