Total phone subscriber base reaches 562.21 million in December 2009 |

Telecom subscription data as on 31st December 2009 shows that the total telephone subscriber base reaches 562.21 million. Of these:
- Wireless subscription reaches 525.15 Million
- Wireline subscription declines to 37.06
Overall tele-density reaches 47.89. Broadband subscription is 7.83 million. The number of telephone subscribers in India increased to 562.21 million at the end of December 2009 from 543.20 million in November 2009, thereby registering a growth rate of 3.50 percent. With this, the overall tele-density in India reaches 47.89.
