Ericsson has been contracted by three Chinese telecom operators to render fixed-line broadband access. The three operators—China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, which are currently stepping up their networks in several provinces including Guangdong, Shanghai, and Sichuan, will receive fiber-to-the-home, or FTTH, networks from the equipment maker. Additionally, it will also provide a range of services, including competence development, network design, and consultancy. Millions of people of the initial nine Chinese provinces will be able to enjoy high-definition TV, as well as high-speed broadband and quality voice services. However, the value of the deal remains undisclosed. |
