Siemens Enterprise Communications offered Enterasys Networking solution. Enterasys Networks is a premier global provider of wired and wireless network infrastructure and security solutions, and is now part of Siemens Enterprise Communications Group.

The technical team of NABARD did a detailed technical evaluation and approved Enterasys and Cisco to address the requirement of 1600-node. NABARD also asked for six year maintenance support from the bidders. After normal bidding process, NABARD invited bidders of Enterasys and Cisco for reverse bidding. Siemens Enterprise Communications emerged as the lowest bidder in this process beating three other vendors.

As per their technical requirement, Siemens Enterprise Communications provided NABARD with high performance, high availability and Secure S Series S8 Switch at core for meeting their performance hogging applications which run over network in Data Center. The S-series is a powerful family of core switch that combines high-performance networking with the highest level of core security available today to support the most demanding enterprise applications and business-critical communications.

Also, C5 layer 3 switches for end device connectivity with inbuilt secure policy feature along with 10G SFP ports for future bandwidth needs. And the most important factor was that Enterasys NMS gave them complete visibility and control to achieve monitoring, management, secure policy deployment and inventory management.
