With more than 100,000 employees in diverse locations worldwide, electronic security and fire protection specialist, Tyco Fire and Security, faced a challenge of getting employees to communicate efficiently.

For Tyco Fire and Security India, who found that their employees were geographically spread across different states and in different time zones, collaboration on internal presentations and meetings was a problem.

As costs spiraled with employees talking internally for routine meetings, Tyco Fire and Security India decided in 2009 that they needed a technology solution.

The fix for this was a conferencing solution form Arkadin, which cut down on travel and mobile phone costs by a significant 20 percent. The web and video conferencing solution also boosted productivity as employees saved time by traveling less. Srikanth Mattipali, IT director for Tyco Fire and Security India said, "The main aim of this IT project was to lower costs and increase efficiency. Tyco Fire and Security India talked to a couple of different vendors who could provide conferencing solutions, but eventually settled on Arkadin.

The key reason at the outset was that the solution was accessible anywhere and anytime, and it had flexible service options compared to other vendors.

"In the two years that Tyco Fire and Security India has been using Arkadin's Anytime solution, we have been very happy with the quality of service and account management, which we felt was above the rest," added Srikanth, "Our account manager is outstanding. She is available as necessary and always provides a solution to fit Tyco's needs - not just as a salesperson to sell Arkadin's products."

Ever since Tyco Fire and Security India started using conferencing solutions, collaboration has increased within the company. They now use it as an everyday tool to communicate, for presentations, meetings, and training sessions. "It sets an example for the rest of the organization," said Srikanth, "Travel costs have to be reduced, but communication does not have to suffer."
